Empire Showcases Efficiency in Screen Printing Workplace



“Screen printing is a notoriously polluting industry, and there’s mixed information on how the process can be made more sustainable. As it stands, most screen printers utilize time and labor-intensive processes. The sheer number of manual steps makes mistakes all too common, resulting in massive amounts of material waste. By and large, using solvent inks and heat to cure (or “set”) ink into the substrates is the process’s least sustainable and inefficient part. This traditional curation method requires a lot of time and is incredibly toxic to the environment and employees. The process releases hazardous byproducts, including Methanol, Ethanol, Butanol, Acetone, Propyl Acetate, Propylene Oxide, Isopropyl Alcohol Ethyl Acetate, and more.”
